They say never to judge a book by its cover but what about a title? I ran into such a dilemma years back when my then titled book THIS CHRISTMAS was released. As is often the case, the book went up for pre-order before the draft was finalized, and in this instance, before the town name was chosen. One day, my daughter and I were passing by a house I often admired, and I commented on the lovely front door which was the prettiest shade of French blue I’d ever seen. I asked my rather artistic daughter what she would call that color, and much to my surprise, she replied, “Winter Lake.” I immediately knew that this would be the name of the town in my book–and that I had missed a golden opportunity for the title. Well, that book has now been out for five years, and to mark the anniversary, it is at long last being re-released under the title it should have had all along. No, the story has not changed, but I couldn’t be happier to finally bring CHRISTMAS IN WINTER LAKE to all my readers.
